Film and Fair Clothing Faire

Wednesday, October 18, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

by donation

Awareness Film Night Season Premiere will present the film “The True Cost” and a Fair Clothing Faire featuring local Upcyclers and purveyors of vintage and used clothing.  The fashion industry is one of the largest polluters and producers of waste on the Planet.  Who knew?  Add to that the unsafe working conditions and poorly paid workers, it is well past time to re-evaluate our attitude towards clothing.  This film is an eye-opening encouragement to do just that.  The Fair Clothing Faire will give moviegoers a glimpse of what fair trade, non-polluting and waste utilizing (instead of waste-producing) clothing looks like as an inspiration to make your own upcycled clothing or purchase some from one of the vendors. Doors open for the Faire at 6:30; film at 7:30.
