Come celebrate the end of two weeks of hearings against Kinder Morgan! Join us at the South Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery between Robson St and Howe St.
We will honour the work of First Nations taking legal action against Kinder Morgan, and hear from Elder Shane Pointe, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Lummi Carver Jewell James, Chief Ian Campbell, Rueben George, and many others people doing incredible work.
Jewell James will be debuting the newest totem pole carved by the House of Tears Lummi Carvers, currently on tour across North America. More information on the Totem Pole Journey can be found at https://www.facebook.com/totempolejourney.
The event will also feature a pop-up exhibit and video projections by The Natural History Museum in collaboration with Lummi Nation.
This event takes place on the Unceded Territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and mi ce:p kʷətxʷiləm (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
