Welcome to Vol. 7 of Queer and Trans Choir\, we hope to see you there 🙂 \nWhere: ** new location alert:**: Lutheran Church of the Cross\, 3787 Cedar Hill Rd\, Victoria \nWhat: 2-hour choir hang where we’ll warm-up our voices and hearts\, build community\, and learn a new song (TBA!). Because this is a shorter time period for learning a song\, we encourage folks to listen to the music before the event to get familiar with the melody and rhythm. \nWhen: May 25th – 7-9PM \nSnacks: Yes we will be providing snacks during our 10-15 min break \nPrice: $25-40 sliding scale per session\, and we have 5 free spots for under 25/low income\, and 5 free spots for BIPOC. \nCovid & Community Care: Masks are encouraged\, air purifiers will be working their magic and windows will be open. There is a strict don’t come if sick policy. Thanks for taking care of each other!

DESCRIPTION:Sing your heart out with the Gay4Choir Pride Festival Chorus! Join our sonic queer community for 5 weekly rehearsals culminating in a joyful performance at the Victoria Pride Festival on July 12th. \nWhat to expect: \n\n5 weekly rehearsals starting Monday June 1st at 6:30-8:30pm\nPLUS the amazing opportunity to perform at the Victoria Pride Festival on July 12th\nJoyful queer community raising our voices together in harmony – maybe make a friend!\nA welcoming and empowering choral environment. This choir is about intergenerational queer connection\, joy\, and sonic magic! We will be working toward a polished and satisfying performance\, but there is no audition; We encourage anyone who loves to sing and is able to commit to the rehearsals to sign up. No prior choir experience necessary. Rehearsals are designed to be accessible for less experienced singers\, while fun and satisfying for more experienced singers too. This is community\, baby!\nChoir members will have access to all the sheet music and voice part recordings early and are encouraged to get familiar with the songs before rehearsals start.\nWhat we’ll be singing: Beginning to Feel the Years by Brandi Carlisle\, Make Me Feel by Janelle Monae\, Silk Chiffon by MUNA\, Somewhere Over the Rainbow\, and maybe more!\n\n* Space is limited\, so please register early. The final signup deadline is May 25th \nWhere rehearsals take place: Lutheran Church of the Cross\, 3787 Cedar Hill Rd\, Victoria \nWhen: June 1\, 8th\, 15th\, 22nd\, and 29th from 6:30-8:30pm\, and then a performance at PRIDE on July 12th. \nPrice: $114-210 sliding scale. Suggested median cost is $162\, and participants are encouraged to contribute along the sliding scale according to your means.
