World Meditation Day
The benefits and importance of peace, both internally and externally, can not be understated.
Finding inner peace is a universal human desire. All forms of meditation and prayer share the same explicit goal of reaching this state of calm which, in turn, can influence collective harmony and coherence.
World Meditation Day coincides with the Winter Solstice on Sunday, December 21st and represents a time for reflection, honoring ancestors, and welcoming light after darkness. To promote inner calm, well-being and world harmony, organizations globally are hosting gatherings virtually and locally.
To synchronize the power of collective coherence, a 20-minute worldwide observance of silence at 8 am and 5 pm PST will result in the largest number of people meditating or praying together at the same time. Large group meditations reportedly decrease societal conflict, crime, and terrorism by creating a shared peaceful consciousness, suggesting Inner peace is the foundation for outer peace, affecting social behavior and stability.
When we align our hearts, minds, and intentions for peace it can create a resonant field of care, clarity, and cooperation, reducing stress, boosting creativity, and enabling intuitive, fluid problem-solving for better collective outcomes. Focused breathing and heart-centered awareness facilitate moving from “me to we,” and fosters a unified “beingness” that benefits relationships, leadership, and global well-being.
