Meet people & remove invasive blackberry at View Royal Park!

Connect with others in nature & remove invasive plants (mainly Himalayan Blackberry)! Together, we’ll give native trees & shrubs a chance to thrive! Everyone is welcome! No experience needed

Join the Greater Victoria Green Team together with the Town of View Royal to help improve the health of View Royal Park by removing invasive Himalayan blackberry and English ivy plants. 

No experience needed;  instructions, gloves, tools, and snacks are provided! All ages and abilities are welcome!

The Greater Victoria Green Team is a program of the charity Green Teams of Canada. We connect & empower people by organizing hands-on, inclusive, safe & impactful environmental activities. Whether it’s your 1st coming out or your 50th, you’ll be guided every step of the way.

 

FLOW OF THE DAY ⏱️

9:45 am – Arrival, sign-in, grab gloves

10 am – Safety talk, education & demonstration

11:30 am – Snack break

12:45 pm – Wrap-up & pack up

1 pm – Sign-out, activity ends

 

WHAT TO BRING 🧥👖

Please come prepared for outdoor, hands-on work:

Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty

Long sleeves & long pants (to protect from thorny plants + bugs)

Sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots

Refillable water bottle

Rain jacket (just in case!)

Hat & weather-appropriate layers

Your own gloves/tools/safety glasses if you prefer (optional – we provide everything you need)

Meet inside View Royal Park (1328 Pheasant Lane)

There is a parking lot at the entrance to View Royal Park off of Helmcken Rd. 

There is a bus stop nearby at Helmcken X Gull Rd
