Many Hands: Art of Community-Senior’s Excursion to O.U.R. Ecovillage

Monday, March 30 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Many Hands: Art of Community Seniors Excursion to O.U.R. Ecovillage
Cowichan Art Program for Seniors | 2025–26 Closing Celebration

Join us for a day-long excursion to O.U.R. Ecovillage in Shawnigan Lake, marking the final gathering of the Cowichan Art Program for Seniors and celebrating the spirit of Many Hands—a theme that has guided our year of learning, making, and community.

This visit follows our gallery exhibition Many Hands, featuring work by Indigenous artist Tlithl’Kawi, his students, and two additional Indigenous artists. The excursion offers an opportunity to continue these conversations on the land, through shared food, teachings, and time together.

Participants will be welcomed into Tlithl’Kawi’s workshop for tea, conversation, and teachings, followed by a celebratory lunch. In the afternoon, O.U.R. Ecovillage Executive Director Brandy Gallagher will introduce the Art of Community and share insights into the vision, values, and daily practices that shape life at O.U.R. A guided tour of the land will conclude the day.

This event is designed as a gentle, enriching experience—one that honours creativity, Indigenous knowledge, and the importance of community in later life.
