LNG Not in Our National Interest – Victoria Rally

Wednesday, April 15 @ 11:45 am - 1:15 pm
In a time of global instability and rising energy costs, Canada faces a critical choice. While communities are calling for affordable, sustainable solutions, Prime Minister Mark Carney is pushing to fast-track new fossil fuel megaprojects.
Foreign investors claim liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports are an economic lifeline—but if these projects are so profitable, why do they rely on billions in public funding?
Join local organizations and community members from across Victoria and beyond as we call on Export Development Canada to stop subsidizing costly LNG projects like Ksi Lisims LNG and LNG Canada Phase 2.
These foreign-owned megaprojects:
– Don’t add up economically.
– Risk of increasing energy costs at home.
– Undermine progress on Indigenous reconciliation.
Together, we’ll stand for a better path—one that prioritizes affordable, clean, renewable energy and strong local communities.
🎶 Expect music, banners, placards, and powerful voices.
Bring your friends, family, and energy as we rally for a just, LNG-free future.
Meet at the EDC Office 1230 Government St, Victoria.
