The Story Collection: Stories from the Threshold
This fall, The Story Collection returns with stories about death, dying, and the thresholds we cross along the way. Inspired by themes woven through our feature exhibition, Ancient Egypt: Obsessed with Life, which examines ancient Egyptian funerary practices and beliefs about the afterlife, this evening brings together community storytellers to share real, personal stories connected to death and dying in all their forms.
Some stories might be about sitting with someone as they died. Others might explore the rituals and traditions that different cultures carry around death and remembrance. And some might be about a quieter kind of dying, the moments when an old version of yourself quietly falls away, making room for something new to grow in its place.
As with every Story Collection event, these are true stories, told live, by the people who lived them. Come ready to laugh, cry, and sit with the many ways we make sense of endings.
