What is a Deep Energy Retrofit?

Thursday, October 24 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Navigating the process of retrofitting your home is a challenge. There is insulation, windows, electrification and more. But as climate change affects our daily lives, weatherizing our homes can protect us and reduce emissions, protecting our planet.

Thursday, October 24 at 7PM, join FTFO and Brian Rippy, professor in the Sustainable Building Technology Program at Okanagan College to learn about his retrofit journey.

Brian spent a year doing a deep retrofit on his mid-century Penticton home. He learned a lot during the process.

While newly built sustainably dwellings often grab the headlines, the fact remains that the buildings that are currently standing and will be standing for many years to come are some of the lowest hanging fruit in meeting our climate targets. This presentation will walk you through a deep energy retrofit project that was recently completed on a 1953 home in Penticton.
