The best chance of having a citizens’ assembly focused on how to make the system more proportional is if it is written into the BC NDP and BC Green Party agreement for 2026. They are negotiating it right now.
Let your MLA know that constituents care about proportional representation and that constituents want the Government to act on the recommendation from the BC Democratic and Electoral Reform Committee for a Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform.
Ask your MLA to convey that message to David Eby ASAP on behalf of constituents. It has to travel up the chain – that’s what’s going to make a difference, because this all comes down to what David Eby decides.
Your effort will provide another chance of making progress towards proportional representation in BC for the benefit of all generations.
