Join GSA as we host our second Coastal Marine Strategy Workshop – this time in Victoria! The workshop will take place on April 26th from 2pm to 4pm at theDock- Centre for Social Impact.
What is on the agenda for this workshop? We will be going over some of the key goals and actions of the Coastal Marine Strategy but there will also be opportunities to voice your thoughts about marine conservation issues! As well, a screening of the incredible short film, Shared Waters, Shared Crisis (watch the trailer here), which highlights Indigenous marine guardianship and the importance of protecting crucial ecosystems in the Salish Sea, with a panel discussion afterwards. Additionally, we will hear from two guest speakers talk about some of their work around marine issues:
David Dick (Southern Resident Killer Whale Monitoring Program Senior Manager at W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council Society and panelist for the film).
Kyle Armstrong (Executive Director at Peninsula Streams Society).
This is an excellent opportunity to connect with community members and environmental organizations on how we can contribute to protecting BC’s valuable marine ecosystems while enhancing the resiliency of coastal communities.
