Connecting Art, Land, and Responsibility: Gathering Medicine Symposium

Friday, April 10 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Gathering Medicine is a three-day immersive symposium that invites arts and culture workers to engage with Knowledge Holders guiding Vines’ work over the past decade. Participants will explore how to move from intention and policy into living practices that honor balance, intergenerational care, and accountability.

Through panels, workshops, and land-based practices, the symposium addresses questions of relational responsibility, ethical cultural work, and sustainability. Sessions include discussions on refusing neutrality in creative practice, transforming policy into regenerative practice, and hands-on workshops in cedar weaving, tea-making, and traditional song.

Attendees will learn from Elders, Knowledge Holders, and facilitators including Mary Point, SF Ho, Star Trickey, Thelma and Smitty Stogan, and other Indigenous practitioners, grounding cultural practice in lived, ancestral knowledge.

When: April 9–11, 2026
Where: Vines Den, 825 E Hastings St
