Hands Off Old Growth Rally

Old growth and primary forests are non-renewable: once they’re logged, they’re gone forever. Yet B.C. continues to clearcut roughly 100 soccer fields of old growth every single day, five years after promising a paradigm shift in forest management. Forestry workers are losing more jobs each month.  In response, communities across BC are organizing on October 4, the day before the BC legislature opens, to push for the protection of old growth forests.

In Victoria, join us and trace your hand on our giant “Hands Off” canvas, raise your voice in unity, hear from key speakers, and enjoy live music. Other communities currently planning events are Nelson, Comox Valley, and possibly others.
