Harvest Fest

Saturday, October 17 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Stop by the Gardens at HCP on Saturday, October 17th, 2026 from 10am to 2pm for a day of harvest-fueled fun!

Grab a coffee from Aerobic Geisha Coffee and a cookie from our bake sale courtesy of Country Grocer before heading inside the Pavilion for expert-led horticultural discussions.

These talks include: “A Year in the Life of a Fruit Tree” by Tim Fryatt from the BC Fruit Testers Association, and “Growing Food Crops Indoors Under Lights” by Jennifer Kolot, a Master Gardener with the Victoria Master Gardeners Association.

Once you’ve learned some facts and tips about fruit trees and food crops, stop to get your portrait painted by Kate with Me & Hue Illustrations. Portrait in hand, wander through the Garden to the Gathering Place to meet representatives from local horticultural organizations at their info tables. Some of these groups will include the Victoria Master Gardeners Association, The UVic Campus Community Garden, Satinflower Nurseries, and more. Make sure you bring your plant-related questions, but more importantly, your curiosity!

After connecting with these organizations, head over to the grassy area beside the library for some kids and family activities. Here, kids and adults alike can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere while making some arts and crafts.

End the day with a Squash Race! Participants will craft their very own cart using a squash and will race each other down our racetrack for the chance to win a prize. Keep an eye out on our website and social media for updates. Registration to participate for the squash race will be open soon.

Tickets for Harvest Fest are $10.00 per person and can be purchased at the door. As always, children under 16 are free.
