Little Free Library Awards Community Picnic
Community Picnic for the LFL Awards on Sunday, September 13th, 3-7pm
Members of the public are invited to attend the annual Little Free Library Community Picnic, where the winners of the 2026 GVPN LFL Awards will be announced. Please join us in celebrating our region’s Little Free Libraries and the stewards who take care of these Pocket Places of connection within our communities.
“This year, we have seen so many new and creative little free library entries! Newcomers that are already iconic like the Queen Mary-shaped LFL on Dallas Road and neighbourhood gems that are filled with free puzzles, books and plants,” said Bella Lee, GVPN board member. “With a growing amount of submissions and votes we have seen how much little free libraries matter to communities. They are the centre pieces of streets that bring people together.”
The free event is open to everyone and will include a large book exchange and book pick-up, crafts, live music, and activities for those gathered to enjoy. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic food, chairs or blankets, and books to contribute to the exchange. We will have a Porta Potty on site.
