Meridiem Wind Orchestra presents: CONTINUUM
Celebrate the remarkable 80th birthday of iconic composer Robert Buckley with the Meridiem Wind Orchestra!
This special concert event will feature iconic composer Robert Buckley’s greatest works for band alongside the world premiere of his brand new piece, Arabian Rhapsody. Everyone is welcome! Tickets are by donation, with a “Pay what you can” option. Tickets for all students are free!
In honour of Buckley turning 80 earlier this year, this concert will be a beautifully curated program of his most imaginative and beloved concert band repertoire, spanning original works like the gorgeous Cathedral Grove to a fantastic arrangement of the theme from Doctor Who.
Robert (Bob) Buckley has a diverse career as a composer, arranger, performer, producer, recording artist and conductor, with hit songs, film and TV scores, and music for the Calgary and Vancouver Olympics and the Victoria Commonwealth Games. He composed This Is My Home for the Canadian Pavilion at the World Expo. We are delighted that Bob has selected Meridiem Wind Orchestra to premiere his brand new work, Arabian Rhapsody. Don’t miss it!
