‘Out of the Mist and into the Light’, co-curators Deborah Czernecky and Kathleen Schmalz, invited a group of ten professional artists, including two clay artists, two photographers, plus watercolor, cold wax, acrylic and oil painters, to create works that represent the area between Colwood and Port Renfrew. The mists, fanciful clouds, and fog of many sorts are an ethereal presence for landscape painters and our 3D artists in our area. Each will have their own special take on the title of the exhibition. Each artists’ work will be presented in one section of the exhibition so the viewer will have a chance to visually ‘read’ each interpretation of the theme. The artists are Desiree Bond, Victor Crapnell, Irene Ives, Ken G. Miner, Mo Najd, Felice Mazzoni, Janet Moore, and Richard Steward. Czernecky and Schmalz will also have work in the exhibition which starts August 21, 2024. The Opening Reception is Aug. 22nd from 4 to 6 p.m.
The gallery is open Wednesday to Friday 10 – 3 and Sat. 12 – 4.
The exhibition closes Sept. 20th at 3 p.m. All are welcome!
