This exhibition celebrates Horton’s remarkable artistic career in honour of his 90th birthday.
Running from April 4 to June 1, 2025, the exhibit will fill the museum’s entire gallery with works exemplifying Horton’s signature attention to detail and unmatched historical accuracy.
John Horton is a noted marine artist and a founding member of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists. He is also a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Honourable Company of Master Mariners of Canada, the Royal Naval Sailing Association, and a lifeboat commander with the Canadian Lifeboat Institution. In recognition of his contributions, he has been awarded the Order of British Columbia.
This retrospective offers a rare opportunity to explore the breadth of Horton’s work and his profound connection to maritime history and heritage.
