Victoria Capital Regional District Youth Forum

The Victoria Capital Regional District Youth Forum is a five-day leadership and empowerment program bringing together 40 youth (14–25) from low-income households across Canada. Hosted in Victoria, BC, the Forum blends hands-on leadership training with cultural immersion and civic engagement—including visits to government institutions, dialogues with Indigenous leaders, environmental education, and experiences across Victoria’s multicultural communities. Participants deepen their appreciation of Canada’s diversity and strengthen a sense of national pride and belonging.
What participants will do
- Visit government institutions and meet public leaders to learn how decisions are made.
- Engage in dialogues with Indigenous leaders on history, culture, and reconciliation.
- Explore Victoria’s multicultural communities through food, arts, and guided activities.
- Learn environmental stewardship and sustainability practices.
- Build core leadership skills: communication, collaboration, advocacy, problem-solving.
- Create a personal action plan for reconciliation, inclusion, and civic leadership at home.
