Who Doesn’t Love a Prequel? The Wonders of Prehistoric Egypt

When you think of ancient Egypt, you likely think of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the boy-king, Tutankhamun, or the expansive Karnak Temple complex. But how much do you know about Egypt before a time of Kings, writing, and grandiose architecture? This talk explores how people lived in Prehistoric Egypt. You will learn about Egypt’s prehistoric cultures, the substantial environmental changes in the region, and some of the unanswered questions about this time period that continue to puzzle Egyptologists today.

Katlin Long-Wright is a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto’s Near and Middle Eastern Civilization Department. His research focuses on Egyptology, the Predynastic Period, and the built environment.
