What a delight to see master forester Ray Travers honoured by the District of Saanich for his work on bringing attention to Shelbourne Street’s heritage trees planted in honour of 600 local Victorians killed during the First World War.
Members of Creatively United and the Community Trees Matter Network were in attendance to thank Saanich council for taking a stand on dozens of trees slated to be cut on Finnerty Road and Grange Road and show our support for protecting Haro Woods as a natural park.
Listen to Ray speak at Creatively United about the importance of trees in this video recorded during one of our Earth Week events.
