I would like to invite you to join our new Youth Program with a submission of an expression of art for peace from your community. It’s a special exchange with Japanese students. It can be drawn or painted, photography, computer designs etc.
Canada has been invited (like pen pals) to an exchange program with some Japanese University students who are doing art work representing how they feel about peace in the world. It’s part of a new project called The Oneness-World International Youth Program.
Dr. Harashita Sunaoshi is a Lecturer currently teaching at Gunma Prefectural Women’s University and is doing a summer program in Intercultural Communication. Inspired by the new Canadian Youth Program she has extended it to her students and they are inspired to do it as an exchange program with us.
I’m wondering if anyone might know someone who would be interested to participate in the project. It doesn’t have to be a large number of submissions – there are only 10 students participating from Japan. Also any age group is appropriate to respond! Even children!
I also have a press release about the new program for local interest if you’re interested. The submissions will be posted online in an International community.
Please call me if you have questions, I’m aiming for a September 21 deadline for the U.N. International Day of Peace (so time sensitive) BUT the program is ongoing so we will be accepting submissions after that. Samples of the kind of work the Japanese are doing can be supplied or will be seen shortly on the site. You may even have an art expression on paper that would relate well already! You just have to add a note with it about the beauty, or love of Japan.
Warmest regards,
