The negative effects of fossil fuel extraction and use seriously impact human health and the environment. The Canadian Association of Physicians (CAPE) invites the public to sign an open letter calling on the BC Government to ban fossil-fuel promotion in schools. CAPE notes the negative health impacts of air pollution from fossil fuel combustion (ie. heart disease, lung disease, birth defects, and cancer), and the effects of carbon pollution on climate change (extreme heat, extreme cold, flooding, landslides, and wildfires).
