I think that saving the salmon spawning area of Goldstream River is a very important cause. If people even know about this highway expansion, they probably don’t know that nobody will get to their destination any sooner. The highway will still be single lane each way. The proposed highway improvement is a concrete median, For that we will lose 700 trees that provide shade and a cooling effect to the river. This spot is a premium field trip for school children where they witness salmon spawning and learn about life cycles.
