As part of a research project on wildfire smoke infiltration in residential buildings, the University of Victoria’s Clean Air Lab (cleanairlab.ca), led by Dr. Minet, is seeking volunteers to host air quality sensors in their homes next summer.
The goal of this study is to develop recommendations and guidelines for building interventions during wildfire smoke events, helping to protect residents from exposure. These guidelines will be informed by a better understanding of how different building characteristics (e.g., window types, envelope materials, cooling systems) and interventions (e.g., portable air cleaners, HVAC settings) impact indoor air quality.
