Thanks for joining us (or registering) for Protecting Our Communities in a World on Fire. There were over 400 of you who tuned in, and of those who took the poll at the start of the webinar, 96% indicated you had experienced some level of impact from the wildfires ravaging our forests. Throughout the webinar, a steady stream of commenters in the chat expressed frustration over inaction and yearning to do more. We are equally angered by the state of things, but also hopeful that we can make a difference.
To get involved with our Sue Big Oil Campaign, please send us an email. If you’ve already indicated in the survey form that you’d like to get involved, we’ll be in touch soon.
We need everyone in our spheres of influence – firefighters, physicians, students, mayors and councillors, MLAs and MPs, teachers, tradesmen, professors, scientists, celebrities, parents, children, seniors, and everyone outside and in between to speak to the challenges at hand. If you can support in any way – spokespeople, unions, mayoral and councillor relationships, economic analysis, digital media savviness, volunteer management, hosting spaces, a podcast, etc.– please let us know.
Sign the Climate Cost Recovery Declaration to urge your local government to take action for climate accountability.
If you have any firsthand accounts or photos of wildfires or other climate impacts, we’d love to talk about ways we could help you share your story. Get in touch
