On Saturday, October 26 the Greater Victoria Green Team, TD Friends of the Environment (TD FEF) and Township of Esquimalt are hosting the TD Tree Days in Esquimalt Gorge Park.

Over 3 hours, 450 native shrubs and trees will be planted along the creek entering the Gorge Waterway with help from dozens of community members and TD Bank employees. These native plants will add to the biodiversity in the park, as well as increase tree coverage in the region. There will be 23 species planted in total, including Garry oaks, Douglas fir, Bigleaf maple, Oceanspray, Red flowering currant, Salmonberry and Thimbleberry.

This project has been made possible through funding support from TD FEF, and parks staff support from Town

Green Teams of Canada uses an innovative community engagement model that emphasizes the importance of collaboration and team-work. The Greater Victoria Green Team has collaborated with the Township of Esquimalt for the past few years and this has been made possible through Esquimalt community grants.
