The AccessBC Campaign for free prescription contraception is once again running a letter writing campaign, calling on the provincial government to fulfil their election promise to make all prescription contraception free.
Every two weeks we will be focusing on 5 new BC NDP MLAs, and asking people to flood their offices with letter. This is part of an ongoing campaign by AccessBC, which was founded in 2017 to fight for universal no-cost prescription contraception in BC. The campaign has made considerable progress over the years – all three major political parties endorsed the policy in the most recent election, and free birth control was in the Mininster of Health’s mandate letter.
Unfortunately, the policy has yet to be implemented and was not included in the most recent budget. As such, we are turning up the pressure to work to ensure that this important health policy, that will increase equality, improve health outcomes for mothers and infants, and save people and the government money, is implemented.
Please take a minute to visit www.accessbc.org where you can send a letter to 5 MLAs!
