The BC Heat Collaborative will officially launch at the end of this month, coinciding with the 5 year anniversary of the 2021 BC Heat Dome. The launch includes an event at Vancouver City Hall on Sunday June 28th, 1-2:30pm. More details on the Vancouver event here.
How to Get Involved
The Collaborative welcomes groups and individuals concerned about the issue of heat in BC. It includes a number of Working Action Groups, including a Schools and Children’s Programs group. The contribution is one hour per month. If you’re interested in joining a working group, please fill out this form.
The BC Heat Collaborative’s Mandate
The BC Heat Collaborative “intends to engage in action directed towards substantive change in policy and practice by bringing together individuals, groups and organizations from broad perspectives to raise public and political awareness about both the increasing impacts of unmitigated heat on vulnerable groups (and) practical and concrete solutions for community and political action.”
