Please write to LandlordBC to voice your concerns about them promoting Fortis and RNG as a solution for new and existing homes at their virtual event on June 15th. LandlordBC has a good reputation and we would not like to see it have its name sullied by promoting this propaganda and greenwashing. Refer to reputable scientist Eoin Finn’s analysis of Fortis’ submission to the BC Utilities Commission regarding Fortis’ attempt to have RNG renamed “low carbon gas” or LCG!

Fortis should not use the misleading term “natural gas”, as their gas has focused on fracked gas, which pollutes habitat and nearby communities, contaminates water sources irreparably and causes earthquakes.
Fortis may include gas from landfills and domestic sources, but I understand that process is a form of greenwashing that causes contaminating emissions as we encourage BC Hydro to actively support clean energy.
Heat pumps, solar energy and other forms of clean energy should be supported by BC Hydro.
