Pacific Wild is backing local heroes defending the biodiverse lands surrounding Cable Bay Trail near Nanaimo – home to wildflower meadows, old-growth forests, and shoreline habitats adjacent to Dodd’s Narrows, an important feeding ground for sea lions, whales and salmon.
This remarkable area – home to one of Nanaimo’s most popular scenic hikes – is now threatened by heavy industrial rezoning that would destroy this ecosystem forever.
See some of the highlights of this area in Save Cable Bay’s Instagram reel which we filmed together with Sarah Callies, Walking Dead actor and longtime Pacific Wild supporter. We’re thrilled to see this campaign gaining traction in recent media.
Local citizens are asking for help to say NO to I4 rezoning.
