An East Sooke home is creating a building revolution that is catching the attention of major media. Bloomberg, a privately held financial, software, data, and media company headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, reports in a recent business article that “builders are swapping cement for weed to reduce pollution.”

The demand for JustBioFiber, the structural building component used in the first zero negative building of its kind in the world, is great news for Canadian hemp farmers.

CreativelyUnited.org has documented the building of the first house of its kind in the world using Just BioFibre and it includes interviews with the inventor, builder, designer and homeowner.

Since 2012, Creatively United has been leading, convening and amplifying public conversation on ways to reduce our ecological footprint and implement long-term sustainability solutions. Through festivals, events, talks, video and educational initiatives, plus our free social sharing network CreativelyUnited.org, we have brought together more than 10,000 people from throughout the region to celebrate and inspire a more socially just and sustainable world.

We know that two couples have met and married from volunteering at our events and one of the first self-sustaining, all inclusive green neighbourhoods resulted from a Creatively United connection. This Thursday the public is invited to attend an open house to learn more about this exciting new development. Learn more here.
