The District of Saanich is inviting residents to read the DRAFT 2026 Climate Plan Update and share feedback before the final plan goes to Council.

The DRAFT 2026 Climate Plan is an update to our existing 2020 Climate Plan and has been informed by extensive research, data analysis, updated climate hazard and risk assessments, and engagement, including input from technical experts, the public, and community representatives. It outlines the pathway and actions to meet our goals of reducing community GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 and to net zero by 2050, achieving 100% renewable energy, and improving our community resilience. It includes 23 strategies and 99 actions across six focus areas.

Read the Draft 2026 Climate Plan Update and provide your feedback by completing the survey. The survey can be accessed through HelloSaanich, and is open until May 22 at 12pm.

All survey responses will be reviewed and used alongside other inputs to inform the final 2026 Climate Plan.
