This is an unedited clip from my recent interview with Thomas Homer-Dixon, where I asked him for his thoughts on the extreme challenge that our local, regional and national communities face with regard to the situations of homelessness and the insane housing and rental markets.

Thomas is the author of five books, including his latest “Commanding Hope – The Power We Have To Renew A World In Peril.” He is also a Canadian political scientist and University Research Chair at the University of Waterloo in the Faculty of Environment, and the executive director of the Cascade Institute at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia.

Phil N. Rossner is producer and host of the video series “In Our Midst: People and Organizations Making Positive Change,” which has been airing on regular rotation on Shaw Spotlight Community TV for the last 2 years. Phil has also been a meditation practitioner and teacher for 35 years. His “root” teacher is Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Phil is also a musician, recording artist and writer. He lives with his wife, Ana, and cat, Archie, on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
