Unist’ot’en Healing Centre and Camp stand in solidarity with Palestine. Our hearts break witnessing yet another chapter of colonialism unfolding in
Gaza. We know this story all too well and stand with Palestine to demand justice and to demand an end to genocide.
Our struggles are interconnected as is our liberation. We pray for a ceasefire and peace.
This winter has been full of grief and challenges for us at the Healing Centre, but also hope. We have lost elders beloved to us and our community and have also held space for community and ourselves to heal through ongoing programming at the Centre. When Freda dreamed of “Heal the People, Heal the Land”, the Centre was not yet built. To watch it flourish over the past few years, to see it healing our people from the trials with which colonization has saddled them, despite industry oppressing us, is a great blessing and the result of the hard work, dreams, and determination of our family, friends, and supporters.
Some of our supporters, Solidarity Art Space, are closing down and moving on to other things, We thank them for their beautiful work over the last few years and ask that you give their store a visit one more time. They have one last new design with the final day for pre-ordering being March 25th, and the rest of the store is on sale until supplies last or the end of April. This is the only way you can get merchandise that directly supports us and our neighbors at Gidt’imt’en.
Finally, we would like to let you know that our Summer Work Party dates are May 26th – June 16th, and we invite you to apply to come as a volunteer via our website. We will be sending another email out with more details in the coming week.
