We couldn’t help but share this good news story that shows what is possible when people come together to take a stand for common good. Fortunately, the developer of this project had the right attitude, was open-minded and understood how their actions would impact the community. Their leadership resulted in the company having to go back to the drawing board and rework the entire project. This is truly worthy of an award and should be the norm, not the exception when it comes to development. We need trees more now than ever, yet there is a serious disconnect at all levels of government. Instead of replanting saplings that will take a lifetime to grow, we need to keep the existing mature trees we already have. Developers need to be more creative and work with nature as part of their design and the rules need to reflect that.
